Individual Observation Project
On Friday, April 5th starting at 8: 00pm I went into St Peters Catholic Church in Olney, Baltimore to observe my first ever open SOCIAL MEDIA PACKAGE meeting. The meeting had been held in the basement part of the church. The room was small and comfortable. The atmosphere was very pleasing and comfortable. A younger gentleman within a nice clean button straight down shirt and khakis, who also goes by the name Andy, stands by the door and greets persons as they walk in with a big friendly hello. It is then, that you are handed down a identity tag and a sharpie. Looking around, the furniture is definitely rearranged to higher suit the event and what is about to happen. The chairs are shaped into a ring, so everyone can get a very clear view of each person, it was large enough to fit 15 to 20 seats but tiny enough to still be close. Before the appointment started, the room filled up with people who all appeared very different yet were most there for the similar reason. The quantity of people that attended the meeting was 13. There was 3 females and 12 males. The group ranged in age group from youthful to older. There were two men who were having a friendly conversation by the snack desk, one old gentleman with noticeable grey hair in sweatpants and Harley Davidson t-shirt and a younger looking man wearing denims and a sweatshirt. There were lots of tiny talk going on as persons found their very own seats. In 8: 00PM the sound of everybody chatting with the other person came to an end when Andy announced that he was going to start. The room arrived at a quiet and the meeting was started off which has a prayer. Everyone joined hands. After the prayer was stated, Andy asked if there was anyone new joining. There have been none. Next that, Andy read a passage from the " Big BookвЂќ. It appears to be just like a holy book and the people attending this kind of meeting address it like one.
